An honest office mouse, not a gaming one — but a 1000Hz polling rate at R99 makes it a far better second mouse than the usual bundled plastic.
Quick Specs
- KA8G2 + BK8092 optical sensor, up to 4000 DPI
- 1000Hz polling rate
- 2.4GHz wireless, up to 10m range
- Switches rated to 10 million clicks
- Lightweight ambidextrous shape
What this is, and what it is not
Let us be straight: this is an office mouse. It has no RGB, no macro buttons and no gaming software, and it will not improve anyone's aim. What it does have is a 1000Hz polling rate — the same reporting speed as proper gaming mice and eight times the 125Hz of the free mouse that came with your PC — which makes the cursor feel immediately smoother in everyday use. For a second machine, a work laptop, a media PC or a spare in the drawer, it is a lot of mouse for R99.
Tracking and comfort for daily work
The KA8G2 and BK8092 optical pairing tracks to 4000 DPI across a range of desk surfaces, so spreadsheet work and rapid application switching stay accurate without a dedicated mousepad. The 2.4GHz link reaches about 10m and keeps a clean desk without Bluetooth pairing hassle. The shape is ambidextrous and light, which suits left-handed users and anyone sharing a machine. Switches are rated to 10 million clicks — modest against gaming mice, but years of ordinary office use. If you want something for actual gaming, start at the R199 Centrophorus 2 instead.
