Analog speed where you need it, mechanical feel elsewhere
The G512 X 98 is a hybrid. The 39 keys that matter most in games sit on Dual Swap beds with Tunnel Magnetoresistance (TMR) sensors, so with the analog switches fitted you can set actuation anywhere from 0.1 to 4.0 mm per key, and assign two actions to one key at different depths. The included SAPP rings add a tactile bump at the second trigger point so you can feel it. The rest of the board uses standard mechanical switches. Polling runs at up to 8 kHz, keycaps are PBT, and two rotary knobs handle volume and other controls. Nine spare analog switches come in the box.
98 versus 75, and what to check
The 98% layout keeps a number pad while trimming the gaps of a full-size board, which suits anyone who enters numbers for work as well as games. If you only game and want more mouse room, the G512 X 75 is about 57 mm narrower. At 987 g it's a heavy, solid board that won't slide. It's wired only, over a detachable USB-C cable, and there's no wrist rest in the box (the G512 X palm rest is sold separately). Analog settings and lighting are configured in G HUB, with three profiles stored on the keyboard.
