Full description and specifications

480Hz with a 0.03ms pixel response: the fastest thing LG puts in a 27-inch box, and it needs a PC to match.

Quick Specs

  • 26.5" OLED panel, 2560 x 1440 QHD, flat
  • 480Hz refresh rate, 0.03ms GtG response
  • 1,500,000:1 contrast, DisplayHDR True Black 400, HDR10
  • 98.5% DCI-P3 colour gamut, 275 cd/m²
  • 1x DisplayPort 2.1, 2x HDMI 2.1, USB 3.0 hub, full ergonomic stand

What 480Hz and 0.03ms actually buy you

OLED pixels switch roughly thirty times faster than the best LCD gaming panels, so motion clarity here is a different category rather than an incremental step. Moving text stays readable, and enemy models do not smear during a flick. The 480Hz ceiling is aimed squarely at competitive shooters running at low settings on strong hardware. Be realistic about the requirement: feeding 480fps at 1440p takes a high-end graphics card and a CPU that is not the bottleneck. At 150fps this panel is still superb, but you are paying for headroom you would not be using.

Burn-in, brightness, and the static desktop problem

OLED earns its contrast by switching pixels off entirely, which is why blacks are absolute rather than dark grey. The trade-off is permanent image retention risk from static elements: a taskbar, a spreadsheet grid, a stream overlay left on screen for hours every day. LG runs pixel-refresh and logo-dimming routines to manage it, but if this monitor will spend most of its life showing the same Windows desktop, an IPS panel is the safer purchase. Peak full-screen brightness of 275 cd/m² also means a bright, sun-filled room is not its best environment.

Questions

Before you buy

What do I need to run it at its full refresh rate?
To reach 480Hz at 2560 x 1440 you need a graphics card able to output that mode, a cable that supports it, and the refresh rate selected in Windows display settings - monitors often default to 60Hz out of the box. The ports on this panel are listed under Specifications above.
What sort of panel is it?
It is OLED with a 0.03ms GtG response time. Panel type is the main thing that decides how a monitor looks off-centre and how it handles colour and contrast, so it is worth weighing against refresh rate rather than choosing on the headline number alone.
Can I wall-mount it or put it on an arm?
This is a 26.5 inch panel. Whether it takes a VESA mount, and at which spacing, is listed under Specifications - if a VESA size is shown there, any arm or bracket rated for that pattern and the monitor’s weight will fit. If you are not sure, send us the model of your arm and we will check.
Is it in stock, and when will it ship?
Yes - this one is in stock. Order before 12:00 on a working day and it ships the same day; after that it goes out the next working day. We are open 09:00 to 16:30, Monday to Friday, so an order placed over a weekend or a public holiday ships on the next working day.
What does delivery cost, and how long does it take?
We deliver by courier anywhere in South Africa, and delivery is free on every order. It takes 1-3 working days to Johannesburg, Pretoria, Cape Town, Durban and areas within 100km of them, and 2-4 working days to areas more than 100km from a major centre, counted from the day the order is dispatched. Need it sooner? Express delivery is 1-2 working days for R150 - choose it at checkout. We do not ship outside South Africa.
Can I collect instead of having it delivered?
Yes. Collection is from 11 Voortrekker Avenue, Edenvale, Gauteng, by arrangement - message us first so we can have the order picked and waiting. We are open 09:00 to 16:30, Monday to Friday.
What warranty does it carry, and how do I claim?
The warranty period for this product is listed at the end of the Specifications section above. Claims go through us, not the manufacturer - contact us with your order number and a description of the fault and we will handle it from there. Separately from any warranty, the Consumer Protection Act gives you six months from delivery to return goods that are defective, unsafe or not fit for their intended purpose.
What if I change my mind?
You have 14 days from delivery to change your mind - longer than the seven days the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act requires. The item needs to be unused and in its original packaging, and we pay the return shipping. Refunds go back to the payment method you used, within 30 days of the return reaching us.
How can I pay?
Payments are processed by Stitch. At the last step of checkout you are taken to Stitch’s secure page to pay, and brought back here once it is done. Your card details are entered on Stitch’s secure, PCI-compliant page and never touch our systems.
