Small footprint, full-size GPU

The NCORE 100 Air is for building a compact gaming PC that sits on the desk rather than under it. The vertical layout puts the graphics card on a PCIe 4.0 riser behind the motherboard, which is how it fits triple-slot cards up to 336mm, or 356mm with the PCIe slot adjusted, in under 15 litres. The frame can also extend from 14.7L to 16.4L for extra room. Tool-less covers and an open frame make access easier than most small cases. If you want a big tower cooler, many drives or an ATX power supply, a Micro-ATX case is the more forgiving choice.

Clearances and trade-offs

Small form factor means compromises. CPU cooler height is limited to 50mm, or 70mm in the expanded configuration, so plan on a low-profile cooler, and RAM height is limited the same way. A taller cooler reduces GPU thickness allowance, so check the clearance table below. Power comes from an SFX unit up to 100mm long, and there is room for a single 2.5" SSD, so use M.2 drives for storage. Two 1200rpm CS120 PWM fans exhaust from the top and rear while air is pulled in through the filtered side panels. Cable space is tight at 11mm behind the tray.
