The cableless 5090 — power delivered through the motherboard
Quick Specs
- NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5090 GPU with 21760 CUDA cores.
- 32GB GDDR7 memory at 28 Gbps on a 512-bit interface.
- OC mode boost clock of 2610 MHz.
- GC-HPWR gold finger power delivery — no visible power cable.
- 357.6 x 149.3 x 76 mm, 3.8-slot cooler.
What BTF actually changes
Back-To-Future removes the power cable entirely. Instead of a 16-pin connector on the top edge, the card draws power through a GC-HPWR gold-finger contact on the PCB itself, mating with a matching slot on a BTF motherboard. The result is a build with no cable crossing the window at all — the visual difference is substantial, and on a card this large it also removes the cable-bend clearance problem the 16-pin connector creates.
Requires a BTF motherboard
This is the important caveat: the card needs an ASUS BTF-compatible motherboard with the GC-HPWR slot. On a standard board it cannot be powered. Everything else is full ROG Astral — 21760 CUDA cores, 32GB of GDDR7 on a 512-bit bus, 2610 MHz OC boost, and the 3.8-slot quad-fan cooler.
