At 23.8 inches the same pixel count lands near 93 pixels per inch, which is where 1080p still looks clean. It also means an older or mid-range graphics card can actually feed 180 frames a second in the games where the refresh rate matters, instead of you paying for a headline number you never reach. IPS rather than TN means the colour holds up when you glance at the screen from the side, and the 99% sRGB figure is enough for photo editing that is not being sent to print.

Where it gives ground

250 nits is a normal indoor brightness, not a sunny-room brightness, so a desk with a window behind it will want a blind. Contrast is a standard 1000:1, so blacks in a dark game read as dark grey rather than black; if that bothers you, a VA panel like the G34WQi is the trade to make, at the cost of viewing angles. There is no USB-C here and no height adjustment, only 5 degrees forward and 15 back of tilt, so budget for a VESA arm if your desk needs the screen higher.

FEATURES:

180Hz IPS panel with 1ms response for competitive play

FreeSync adaptive refresh to remove tearing

99% sRGB colour coverage

DisplayPort and HDMI inputs plus a 3.5mm audio output

VESA 75 x 75 mounting, 3.0kg, tilt -5 to +15 degrees

SPECIFICATIONS:

Model: Xiaomi Gaming Monitor G24i

Screen size: 23.8 inch (24" class)

Panel: IPS

Resolution: 1920 x 1080

Refresh rate: 180Hz

Response time: 1ms

Brightness: 250 nits (typical)

Contrast: 1000:1 (typical)

Colour gamut: 99% sRGB

Adaptive sync: FreeSync

Ports: DisplayPort x1, HDMI x1, audio out x1, DC in

VESA: 75 x 75mm

Weight: 3.0kg

Warranty: 2 year

WHAT'S IN THE BOX:

Xiaomi G24i monitor

Stand base and bracket

Screw kit

HDMI cable

Power adapter

User manual

Why Xiaomi?

Xiaomi builds monitors the way it builds phones, by spending on the panel and keeping the chassis plain.
