Its 5120 x 1440 resolution is the same as two 27" QHD monitors side by side, but with no bezel down the middle, which is what racing and flight sim players want. The 1000R curve wraps the edges into your peripheral vision. DisplayHDR 600 certification and 1.07 billion colours give HDR noticeably more punch than entry HDR10 screens. For work, Picture-by-Picture lets two PCs or a PC and a console share the screen, and the USB hub runs a keyboard and mouse. The stand adjusts 120mm in height and swivels.

Check your desk and GPU first

This is a physically large monitor: 1147.6mm wide, 15.6kg with stand, and the stand is 420.5mm deep, so measure your desk. Running 5120 x 1440 at high frame rates needs a strong graphics card, roughly the load of 4K. Not every game supports 32:9 properly, and some will show black bars or stretched menus. Console users will mostly be limited to 16:9 output. There are no speakers. If you want deeper blacks and faster response, Samsung's OLED G9 models cost more. This VA version is the value route to the format.

FEATURES:

1000R curved 32:9 Dual QHD display

VESA DisplayHDR 600 and HDR10+

144Hz refresh rate with 1ms (GTG) response

AMD FreeSync Premium Pro

Picture-by-Picture, Picture-in-Picture and Auto Source Switch+

SPECIFICATIONS:

Model: Samsung Odyssey G9 G91F (LS49FG910EUXEN)

Screen size: 49" (active area 1191.936 x 335.232mm)

Panel: VA, curved 1000R

Aspect ratio: 32:9

Resolution: 5120 x 1440 (Dual QHD)

Refresh rate: Up to 144Hz

Response time: 1ms (GTG)

Brightness: 350 cd/m² typical, 280 cd/m² minimum

Contrast: 2,500:1, Mega DCR dynamic

HDR: VESA DisplayHDR 600, HDR10+

Colours: 1.07 billion

Colour gamut: 92% DCI (CIE 1976)

Viewing angle: 178° / 178°

Adaptive sync: AMD FreeSync Premium Pro

Gaming features: Black Equalizer, Virtual AIM Point, Super Arena Gaming UX

Inputs: 1x DisplayPort 1.4, 2x HDMI 2.1 (HDCP 2.2)

USB: 1x USB upstream, 2x USB 3.2 Gen 1 downstream

Audio: Headphone out, no built-in speakers

Power: Internal, AC 100-240V, 180W max

Stand: Height 120mm, tilt -2° to 11°, swivel -15° to 15°

VESA mount: 100 x 100mm

Dimensions with stand: 1147.6 x 568.4 x 420.5mm

Dimensions without stand: 1147.6 x 363.5 x 293.8mm

Weight: 15.6kg with stand, 10.6kg without

Warranty: 2 Year

WHAT'S IN THE BOX:

1x Samsung Odyssey G9 G91F 49" monitor with stand

1x Power cable (1.5m)

1x DisplayPort cable

Why Samsung?

Samsung introduced the 49-inch 32:9 Odyssey G9 format and remains the main maker of super ultrawide gaming monitors.
