What usually gets cut alongside is the key matrix, which is why a cheap board drops inputs when you hold three keys. The Netherbane specifies 25-key rollover — enough that WASD plus modifiers plus abilities all register simultaneously. If your budget genuinely does not stretch to mechanical, this is the specification to check, and it is the reason to pick this over an unbranded board.

Comfortable to live with

The switches are tuned to give tactile feedback closer to a mechanical feel than a mushy dome, with smoother keypresses than a standard office board. Lighting has a dedicated on/off button, three breathing modes and four brightness levels — all on the board, no software needed. Twelve multimedia keys handle volume and playback without alt-tabbing. Height is adjustable to reduce wrist fatigue, and the USB Type-C cable means plug-and-play with no drivers on anything from Windows XP onward. Being honest: membrane switches wear differently to mechanical ones and are not replaceable, so this is a two-to-three year board rather than a decade one.

FEATURES:

Full-size 104-key layout with 12 dedicated multimedia keys

Mechanical-feel membrane switches with tactile feedback

Anti-ghosting supporting up to 25-key rollover

Upgraded LED backlight with rainbow effects, 3 breathing modes and 4 brightness levels

Adjustable height and USB Type-C plug-and-play connection

SPECIFICATIONS:

Model: Redragon K521 Netherbane

Switch Type: Mechanical-feel membrane

Keys: 104 full size

Multimedia Keys: 12 dedicated

Rollover: Anti-ghosting, up to 25 keys

Lighting: RGB rainbow, 3 breathing modes, 4 brightness levels, dedicated on/off

Connectivity: Wired, USB Type-C

Height: Adjustable

Compatibility: Windows XP and later

Warranty: 18 Months

WHAT'S IN THE BOX:

Redragon K521 Netherbane RGB Membrane Keyboard x1

USB Type-C cable x1

User manual x1

Why Redragon?

Redragon publishes a real rollover figure on its entry boards instead of the vague "anti-ghosting" claim everyone else prints.
