In games, which live or die on cache hits, that single design choice puts it ahead of chips with far higher clock speeds. It is the reason a 4.2GHz eight-core beats newer processors in frame rate charts, and it is why this build is the one to look at if gaming is the whole point of the machine rather than one of several jobs.

Worth knowing

The RX 9070 XT's 16GB of memory means nothing here will run short of VRAM at 1440p or 4K. The power supply is ATX 3.1 rated — the standard designed for modern GPU power spikes — and the Asus A31 PLUS case brings a front USB 3.2 Gen2x2 Type-C port. Against the VALOUR above it, you are choosing a faster gaming processor and a Radeon card over a faster all-round processor and an RTX 5070 Ti; for gaming alone, the MAXIMUS is the better buy and R6 000 cheaper.

FEATURES:

Eight-core AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D with 3D V-Cache, boost up to 5.0GHz

Radeon RX 9070 XT 16GB GDDR6, boost 3330MHz, 20Gbps memory

32GB of DDR5 6000MHz gaming memory on a 4-slot ATX board

750W 80+ Gold ATX 3.1 modular power supply

360mm ARGB AIO liquid cooler, 3x 120mm fans

Asus A31 PLUS ATX mid tower, tempered glass, front USB 3.2 Gen2x2 Type-C

SPECIFICATIONS:

Model: PCBuilder Ryzen 7 7800X3D MAXIMUS Windows 11 Gaming PC

Processor: AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D — 8 cores, 16 threads, 4.2GHz base, boost up to 5.0GHz

Motherboard: Asus B840 chipset, AM5, ATX, 4 DIMM slots

Memory: 32GB DDR5 6000MHz (16GB x 2)

Graphics: Radeon RX 9070 XT 16GB GDDR6, boost 3330MHz, 20Gbps

Storage: 1TB Gen4 NVMe SSD — read 7,100MB/s, write 6,000MB/s

Cooling: 360mm ARGB AIO liquid cooler, 3x 120mm fans

Power supply: 750W 80+ Gold, modular, ATX 12V (ATX 3.1)

Chassis: Asus A31 PLUS ATX mid tower, tempered glass, 1x USB 3.2 Gen2x2 Type-C / 2x USB 3.2 Gen1 / HD audio

Networking: Gigabit LAN, Wi-Fi 2.4GHz / 5GHz

Operating system: Microsoft Windows 11 Home

Dimensions: 55.2 x 27 x 45.6 cm

Warranty: 2 years

WHAT'S IN THE BOX:

PCBuilder Ryzen 7 7800X3D MAXIMUS Windows 11 Gaming PC x1

PCBuilder welcome guide x1

In-transit protective foam pack x1

1.8m power cable x1

Why PCBuilder?

PCBuilder machines are assembled and tested in-house before they ship, and packed in moulded foam so nothing shakes loose in transit.
