The DisplayPort 1.4a input carries the full 2560 x 1440 at 200Hz, but the two HDMI 2.0b inputs top out at 1440p and 144Hz because HDMI 2.0 does not have the bandwidth for more. MSI ships a DisplayPort cable in the box for exactly this reason, so use it for your PC and keep HDMI for a console. A PlayStation 5 or Xbox Series X will run at 1440p and 120Hz here, which is as much as those consoles output anyway.

1440p is where a 27-inch panel belongs

At 2560 x 1440 a 27-inch screen lands around 109 pixels per inch, which is sharp enough that text stops looking soft and you get real working room next to a browser. It is also the resolution where a mid-range graphics card can still chase high frame rates, unlike 4K. Rapid IPS keeps viewing angles wide and transitions fast, contrast is 1200:1 which is slightly better than most IPS panels but still well short of a VA screen in a dark room, and colour coverage is 115% sRGB with 90% DCI-P3. HDR is HDR Ready only at 300 nits.

FEATURES:

2560 x 1440 Rapid IPS panel at 200Hz over DisplayPort

Certified NVIDIA G-Sync Compatible and AMD FreeSync Premium

0.5ms grey-to-grey minimum response

1200:1 contrast with 115% sRGB and 90% DCI-P3 coverage

Console friendly: 1440p at 120Hz over HDMI 2.0b

SPECIFICATIONS:

Model: MSI MAG 275QF E20

Panel size: 27 inch

Panel type: Rapid IPS, flat

Resolution: 2560 x 1440 (WQHD)

Refresh rate: 200Hz (DisplayPort), 144Hz (HDMI)

Response time: 0.5ms (GtG, min)

Brightness: 300 cd/m² (SDR)

Contrast ratio: 1200:1, DCR 100000000:1

Colour gamut: 82% Adobe RGB, 90% DCI-P3, 115% sRGB

Display colours: 1.07B, 10 bits (8 bits + FRC)

HDR: HDR Ready

Adaptive sync: NVIDIA G-Sync Compatible, AMD FreeSync Premium

Inputs: 1x DisplayPort 1.4a (HBR3), 2x HDMI 2.0b

Audio: 1x headphone out

Adjustment: tilt -5° to 20°

VESA: 100 x 100mm

Warranty: 3 Year

WHAT'S IN THE BOX:

MSI MAG 275QF E20 monitor with stand

1x DisplayPort 1.4a cable

1x power cord (C13)

1x quick guide

Why MSI?

MSI puts the same Rapid IPS panel technology across the MAG range and lets resolution and refresh set the price, so nothing important has been cut here to hit the number.
