The LIGHTSPEED receiver gives a 1 ms report rate, so in game it behaves like a wired mouse, and the HERO sensor tracks cleanly with no smoothing or acceleration from 200 to 12,000 DPI. Six buttons can be remapped in G HUB and saved to the mouse. It runs on one AA battery for up to 250 hours of gaming, or around nine months in endurance mode, and the receiver stores inside the mouse so it's easy to throw in a laptop bag.

Trade-offs to know about

The AA battery means no charging cable, but it also adds weight: 99 g with an alkaline cell, versus 60 g for the SUPERLIGHT 2. You can fit a lithium AA to shave a few grams. The shape is compact and suits small to medium hands, so large palm-grip users may find it cramped. There's no Bluetooth and no RGB lighting, and the receiver is USB-A only. If you want a lighter, rechargeable version of the same idea, look at the newer G305 X. This listing is the black version; the white is otherwise identical.

FEATURES:

HERO optical sensor with zero smoothing, acceleration or filtering

LIGHTSPEED wireless with 1 ms report rate

Up to 250 hours performance mode or 9 months endurance mode on one AA

6 programmable buttons with onboard memory

Receiver storage inside the mouse

SPECIFICATIONS:

Model: Logitech G305 LIGHTSPEED (910-005283), M/N M-R0071

Sensor: HERO optical

Resolution: 200 – 12,000 DPI

Report rate: 1 ms (1,000 Hz)

Buttons: 6, mechanical button tensioning system

Main button durability: 10 million clicks

Battery: 1x AA (alkaline included), replaceable

Battery life: Up to 250 hours (performance mode), up to 9 months (endurance mode)

Wireless: Logitech G 2.4 GHz LIGHTSPEED, nano USB receiver

Wireless range: Up to 10 m

Dimensions (H x W x D): 116.6 x 62.15 x 38.2 mm

Weight: 75 g without battery, 99 g with AA battery

Lighting: None

Compatibility: Windows 7 or later, macOS 10.13 or later, ChromeOS, USB 2.0 port

Colour: Black

Warranty: Logitech limited hardware warranty

WHAT'S IN THE BOX:

1x G305 gaming mouse

1x LIGHTSPEED USB receiver

1x AA alkaline battery

User documentation

Why Logitech?

Logitech G developed LIGHTSPEED and HERO in-house, and the G305 is the cheapest way into that technology that's still used in its esports mice.
