Twelve efficiency cores behind it mean streaming and recording run without touching the game's cores. The unlocked multiplier gives you tuning headroom on a Z790 board.

Cooling is the deciding factor

253W maximum turbo power is not a number to skim past. A 360mm AIO or a top-tier dual-tower air cooler is what this chip needs to hold its clocks; anything less and it throttles, and you've paid for performance you won't see. No cooler is included. Also weigh the alternatives: for pure gaming a Ryzen 7 9800X3D is faster and far cooler; the 14700K wins when you want gaming plus heavy multi-threaded work on one machine.

FEATURES:

5.6GHz max turbo — high-refresh gaming performance

Unlocked multiplier for overclocking on Z-series boards

8 P-cores + 12 E-cores, 28 threads

33MB Smart Cache; UHD Graphics 770 on board

DDR5-5600 or DDR4-3200, up to 192GB

SPECIFICATIONS:

Model: Intel Core i7-14700K (BX8071514700K)

Total Cores: 20 (8 Performance-cores + 12 Efficient-cores)

Threads: 28

P-core Base Frequency: 3.4 GHz

Max Turbo Frequency: 5.6 GHz

Cache: 33 MB Intel Smart Cache

Processor Base Power: 125 W

Maximum Turbo Power: 253 W

Socket: FCLGA1700

Memory: DDR5 up to 5600 MT/s or DDR4 up to 3200 MT/s, 2 channels, max 192 GB

Integrated Graphics: Intel UHD Graphics 770

PCI Express: PCIe 5.0 and 4.0, up to 20 lanes

Unlocked for Overclocking: Yes

Bundled Cooler: Not included

Warranty: 3 Year

WHAT'S IN THE BOX:

Intel Core i7-14700K processor

Documentation

Cooler sold separately — 360mm AIO or high-end air cooler recommended

Why Intel?

Unlocked K chips remain the straightforward route to tuning your own clocks and memory.
