For streaming, video editing or a busy developer machine, this is where LGA1700 gets genuinely productive — and it starts from a 65W base rather than the K model's 125W.

14700 or 14700K?

The K adds a much higher 3.4GHz base, a 200MHz higher turbo and an unlocked multiplier, for more money and a 253W ceiling. If you're not overclocking, the plain 14700 delivers most of the performance in a friendlier thermal envelope. Both still want a proper cooler — 219W under sustained all-core load is real, and the boxed cooler won't hold it. Worth noting LGA1700 is end-of-life, so this is a value platform, not an upgrade path.

FEATURES:

8 Performance-cores + 12 Efficient-cores, 28 threads

5.4GHz max turbo with 33MB Smart Cache

Intel UHD Graphics 770 on board

DDR5-5600 or DDR4-3200 support, up to 192GB

PCIe 5.0 and 4.0 support

SPECIFICATIONS:

Model: Intel Core i7-14700 (BX8071514700)

Total Cores: 20 (8 Performance-cores + 12 Efficient-cores)

Threads: 28

P-core Base Frequency: 2.1 GHz

Max Turbo Frequency: 5.4 GHz

Cache: 33 MB Intel Smart Cache

Processor Base Power: 65 W

Maximum Turbo Power: 219 W

Socket: FCLGA1700

Memory: DDR5 up to 5600 MT/s or DDR4 up to 3200 MT/s, 2 channels, max 192 GB

Integrated Graphics: Intel UHD Graphics 770

PCI Express: PCIe 5.0 and 4.0, up to 20 lanes

Unlocked for Overclocking: No

Warranty: 3 Year

WHAT'S IN THE BOX:

Intel Core i7-14700 processor

Intel stock cooler (as supplied in the retail box)

Documentation

Why Intel?

Twelve efficiency cores mean background work genuinely stays out of the way of whatever you're doing in front.
