Script text stays legible from up to 4.6m, so presenters can stand back from the camera instead of hunching over a desk. It mounts on professional tripods or C-stands, and the aluminium camera bracket takes DSLRs, mirrorless and studio cameras with up to 22cm of body and lens. Nine step-up rings from 49 to 82mm and two backplates are included. Elgato's free Camera Hub adds a script manager, Voice Sync scrolling and Stream Deck control, and the screen doubles as a second monitor between shoots.

Is it too much prompter?

For a webcam or phone setup at a desk, the smaller Elgato Prompter is cheaper and lighter. Prompter XL weighs 3.37kg with its camera bracket, so it needs a sturdy tripod or C-stand, not a desk clamp. Check your system: Windows 11 or macOS 13 or newer with a USB-C 3.2 port, and Voice Sync needs an NVIDIA RTX GPU or an Apple M1 or better. The beamsplitter glass lets 70% of light through, so you'll lose a little exposure and should light your subject accordingly. Wide lenses beyond about 94 degrees diagonal will see the hood.

FEATURES:

Removable 15.6" Full HD display that also works as an extra monitor

Readable from up to 4.6m

Mounts on professional tripods or C-stands with an aluminium camera bracket

Single USB-C cable delivers power and data

Camera Hub software: script manager, Voice Sync, Twitch chat and Stream Deck support

SPECIFICATIONS:

Model: Elgato Prompter XL (10WAG9901)

Display: 15.6", 1920 x 1080, 60Hz, 600 nits, removable

Power consumption: 15W

Glass: 70/30 beamsplitter, 1.1 x 360 x 290mm, detachable

Connection: USB-C (3.2)

Body: Plastic with metal skeleton; aluminium camera bracket

Mounting points: 2x 1/4" and 1x 3/8" threads

Max camera + lens length: 22cm

Max lens diameter: 160mm (without backplate)

Max field of view: 20mm, approx. 94° diagonal (universal backplate)

Max load: 5kg (with camera bracket)

Step-up rings: 49, 52, 55, 58, 62, 67, 72, 77, 82mm

Weight: 2.97kg without bracket, 3.37kg with bracket

Dimensions (D x W x H): 493 x 396 x 295mm with bracket; 265 x 396 x 295mm without

Windows: Windows 11 or newer, USB 3.2 Type-C

macOS: macOS 13 or newer, USB 3.2 Type-C

Android: Android 11 or newer with DisplayLink Presenter app

Warranty: Elgato limited warranty

WHAT'S IN THE BOX:

Prompter XL with detachable monitor

Beamsplitter glass

Camera bracket

Universal backplate and ring backplate

9x step-up rings

Mounting screws and cleaning cloth

USB C-to-C cable (200cm)

Quick Start Guide

Why Elgato?

Elgato builds creator hardware that works together, and Prompter XL ties into Camera Hub and Stream Deck for hands-free script control.
