This one has the Ryzen 7 170; the other has the Ryzen 7 7445HS. Both pair it with an RTX 3050, 8GB of DDR5 and a 512GB drive, so in practice you are choosing between two similar eight-core chips rather than between two different laptops. If both are in stock we would take whichever is available sooner - there is no meaningful winner.

What to expect from it

1080p gaming at medium to high settings. The RTX 3050 is a previous-generation part and it is honest about its limits: it will run current titles, but not at high refresh and not with ray tracing on. What it does give you is a real discrete GPU with DLSS support at the bottom of the gaming-laptop market, in a chassis built to take being carried.

The upgrade you should budget for

8GB is the constraint here, not the graphics card. Modern games increasingly want 16GB and you will feel the shortfall as stutter rather than as low frame rates. Adding a second DDR5 SO-DIMM is the cheapest meaningful improvement this machine can take - we stock them and can fit one for you.

FEATURES:

Dedicated NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3050 graphics with DLSS support

Eight-core AMD Ryzen 7 170

DDR5 memory rather than DDR4

512GB PCIe 4.0 NVMe storage

TUF Gaming chassis, built for knocks

SPECIFICATIONS:

Model: ASUS TUF Gaming A15 (FA506NCQ-78512G0W)

Processor: AMD Ryzen 7 170

Graphics: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3050 Laptop GPU

Memory: 8GB DDR5 SO-DIMM

Storage: 512GB PCIe 4.0 NVMe SSD

Display: 15.6"

Operating system: Windows 11 Home

Warranty: 1 year

WHAT'S IN THE BOX:

ASUS TUF Gaming A15 laptop

Power adapter

Documentation

Why ASUS?

TUF Gaming is the range ASUS builds to survive being lived with.
