Cybenetics tests at both, and at 230V this unit measures into the Platinum band. Every plug point in South Africa is 230V, so in practice you are buying Platinum-level efficiency at a Gold price. Less waste heat inside the case and a lower draw at the wall, which matters when the tariff goes up again. At 850W it suits a build around an RTX 5070 Ti or 5080 with a mainstream or high-end CPU.

Small chassis, current connectors

At 140mm deep and 1.35 kg this is noticeably smaller and lighter than most 850W units, which makes it a good fit for a compact mid-tower where the PSU basement is short. It carries a single 12V 16-pin connector fed by a PCIe Gen 5.1 cable, so a 50-series card plugs in directly, plus three 6+2-pin leads for older cards. Storage support is modest at four SATA and two peripheral connectors, so if you are running a drive cage full of mechanical disks, look at a larger unit.

FEATURES:

Cybenetics efficiency rated Platinum at 230V

ATX 3.1 with a native PCIe Gen 5.1 16-pin cable

Compact 140mm chassis for tight case clearances

Fully modular cabling

OPP, OVP, UVP, SCP, OCP and OTP protection

SPECIFICATIONS:

Model: TUF-GAMING-850G-EVO

Total output: 850W

Efficiency: 80 Plus Gold; Cybenetics Platinum (230V), Gold (115V)

ATX standard: ATX 3.1

Form factor: ATX12V

PFC: Active PFC

DC output: +3.3V 20A, +5V 20A, +12V 70.83A, -12V 0.3A, +5Vsb 3A

Motherboard connector: 20+4-pin x 1

CPU connector: 4+4-pin x 2

PCIe 16-pin (12V-2x6): x 1

PCIe 6+2-pin: x 3

SATA: x 4

Peripheral: x 2

Protections: OPP / OVP / UVP / SCP / OCP / OTP

MTBF: greater than 120,000 hours at 40°C

Dimensions: 140 x 150 x 86 mm

Weight: 1.35 kg

Cable configuration: fully modular

Warranty: 8 years

WHAT'S IN THE BOX:

ASUS TUF Gaming 850W Gold EVO power supply

AC power cord

Motherboard cable (610mm)

CPU cable

PCIe Gen 5.1 cable

PCIe adapter cables x 3

SATA and peripheral cables x 2

Cable ties x 3

User manual

Why ASUS?

ASUS submits the TUF Gaming EVO units for independent Cybenetics testing rather than relying on the 80 Plus badge alone, which is how you can see the 230V result at all.
