It is not the unit for an RTX 5090, and pushing a 1000W-class card onto it will have the over-power protection doing its job at the worst possible moment. What it does give you is a Gold-rated platform that runs cool and quiet under the 300 to 450W loads most South African gaming rigs actually pull at the wall.

Short depth, clean loom

The 150mm chassis depth and sub-1.5 kg weight make this one of the easier 750W units to work with in a compact mid-tower where the PSU shroud is tight. Cabling is fully modular, and the single 16-pin lead is terminated at both the PSU and the card, so a 50-series GPU plugs straight in without the four-way adapter that ships with older units. The CPU side gives you two 4+4-pin leads at 650mm each, long enough to route behind the tray on most ATX boards.

FEATURES:

ATX 3.1 compliance for modern GPU transient power excursions

Native PCIe Gen 5.1 16-pin cable terminated at both ends

Active PFC with a 100-240Vac input range, tolerant of South African mains swings

Fully modular cabling so unused SATA and peripheral leads never enter the case

OPP, OVP, UVP, SCP, OCP and OTP protection

SPECIFICATIONS:

Model: AP-750G (ASUS Prime 750W Gold)

Total output: 750W

Efficiency: 80 Plus Gold

ATX standard: ATX 3.1

Form factor: ATX12V

PFC: Active PFC

Motherboard connector: 24/20-pin x 1

CPU connector: 4+4-pin x 2

PCIe 16-pin (12V-2x6): x 1, terminated on both PSU and component side

PCIe 8-pin: x 3

SATA: x 5

Peripheral: x 3

Protections: OPP / OVP / UVP / SCP / OCP / OTP

MTBF: greater than 120,000 hours at 25°C

Dimensions: 150 x 150 x 86 mm

Weight: 1.466 kg

Cable configuration: fully modular

Warranty: 8 years

WHAT'S IN THE BOX:

ASUS Prime AP-750G power supply

AC power cord

Motherboard cable (610mm)

CPU cables (650mm) x 2

PCIe 16-pin cable

PCIe adapter cable

SATA cables

Peripheral cable

User manual

Why ASUS?

ASUS puts the same protection set and ATX 3.1 validation into the Prime line that it uses further up the range, without the RGB and the price that comes with it.
