The B850 Pro RS WiFi has the PCIe 5.0 graphics slot and Gen5 M.2 socket you want for the next few years, four DDR5 slots so 64GB is a later decision rather than a now decision, and enough VRM to keep a Ryzen 7 9800X3D or a Ryzen 9 9900X at full clocks. Wi-Fi and 2.5 Gigabit LAN are both on board. It is deliberately restrained styling too, which suits a build you are going to look at for five years.

Honest about the ceiling

B850 gives up some of X870's PCIe lane budget, so if you plan to run a capture card, a 10GbE NIC and multiple Gen5 drives all at once you will hit lane sharing. There is no USB4 here, no 10 Gigabit networking, and no POST code display or on-board power button. The Realtek audio codec is fine but unremarkable. Heavy multi-card workstation users and anyone who needs USB4 for external GPU or fast storage docks should be shopping X870 instead of B850.

FEATURES:

Digital VRM with alloy chokes under substantial aluminium heatsinks

PCIe Gen5 x16 graphics slot with reinforced steel latch

Multiple M.2 sockets including PCIe Gen5, with tool-free heatsink mounting

Wi-Fi with Bluetooth plus 2.5 Gigabit Lightning Gaming LAN

ASRock Instant Flash and BIOS Flashback for CPU-free firmware updates

SPECIFICATIONS:

Model: ASRock B850 Pro RS WiFi

Chipset: AMD B850

Socket: AMD Socket AM5

Form Factor: ATX

Memory: 4 x DDR5 DIMM slots, dual channel, up to 256GB with AMD EXPO and manual overclocking

Expansion Slots: 1 x PCIe 5.0 x16 graphics slot plus additional PCIe x16 and x1 slots

Storage: 3 x M.2 sockets (including PCIe Gen5) and 4 x SATA 6Gb/s ports

Networking: 2.5 Gigabit Ethernet and on-board Wi-Fi with Bluetooth

Audio: Realtek 7.1 channel HD audio codec with Nahimic audio software

Rear I/O Highlights: USB Type-C, HDMI and DisplayPort outputs, Wi-Fi antenna mounts, LAN and audio jacks

USB: USB 10Gbps Type-C and Type-A, USB 5Gbps and USB 2.0 ports, front panel USB-C header

Warranty: 3 Year

WHAT'S IN THE BOX:

ASRock B850 Pro RS WiFi motherboard

Wi-Fi antennas

2 x SATA 6Gb/s cables

M.2 mounting screws and standoffs

Quick installation guide and support documentation

Why ASRock?

Pro RS is ASRock's most balanced line, giving you the features that change how a PC lives rather than the ones that only look good in a review.
