asrock-b850-livemixer-wifi-am5-atx-motherboard
ASRock B850 LiveMixer WiFi AM5 ATX Motherboard

The B850 board built around creators, streamers and a very generous set of ports

Quick Specs

AMD B850 chipset on Socket AM5 for Ryzen 7000, 8000 and 9000 series processors

Four DDR5 DIMM slots with AMD EXPO overclocking support

PCIe 5.0 x16 graphics slot plus PCIe Gen5 M.2 storage

Wi-Fi and 2.5 Gigabit Ethernet with an unusually rich USB rear panel

ATX form factor with the distinctive LiveMixer white and grey styling

Made for people who plug things in

The LiveMixer exists for the builder whose desk has an audio interface, a capture card, a stream deck, two external drives and a microphone all connected at once. ASRock loads the rear panel with USB, including high-speed Type-C, so you are not living off a hub. Under that, it is a full B850 board: PCIe 5.0 for the graphics card and the boot SSD, four DDR5 slots with real EXPO support, and a VRM that comfortably feeds a Ryzen 9. For a streaming or content-creation PC in a South African home studio, it is a well-judged package.

Where it makes sense to look elsewhere

The white and grey aesthetic is polarising and will clash in an all-black build, so check your case first. Networking is 2.5 Gigabit rather than 10 Gigabit, and while the audio implementation is good for the class, it is still an on-board codec, not a substitute for the interface you probably already own. There is no POST code readout or on-board power button for bench work. If you want maximum VRM headroom for extreme overclocking or 10GbE for a NAS, X870 or X870E is the correct step up.

FEATURES:

Heavy digital VRM with alloy chokes under large heatsinks, sized for Ryzen 9 processors

PCIe Gen5 x16 graphics slot with a reinforced steel latch

Multiple M.2 sockets including PCIe Gen5, with tool-free heatsinks

Extensive rear USB provision including high-speed Type-C for creator peripherals

Wi-Fi with Bluetooth plus 2.5 Gigabit Lightning Gaming LAN

SPECIFICATIONS:

Model: ASRock B850 LiveMixer WiFi

Chipset: AMD B850

Socket: AMD Socket AM5

Form Factor: ATX

Memory: 4 x DDR5 DIMM slots, dual channel, up to 256GB with AMD EXPO and manual overclocking

Expansion Slots: 1 x PCIe 5.0 x16 graphics slot plus additional PCIe x16 and x1 slots

Storage: 3 x M.2 sockets (including PCIe Gen5) and 4 x SATA 6Gb/s ports

Networking: 2.5 Gigabit Ethernet and on-board Wi-Fi with Bluetooth

Audio: Realtek 7.1 channel HD audio codec with Nahimic audio software

Rear I/O Highlights: USB Type-C, HDMI and DisplayPort outputs, Wi-Fi antenna mounts, LAN and audio jacks

USB: High-speed USB Type-C plus a large complement of USB 10Gbps, 5Gbps and 2.0 Type-A ports, front panel USB-C header

Warranty: 3 Year

WHAT'S IN THE BOX:

ASRock B850 LiveMixer WiFi motherboard

Wi-Fi antennas

2 x SATA 6Gb/s cables

M.2 mounting screws and standoffs

Quick installation guide and support documentation

Why ASRock?

LiveMixer is ASRock listening to creators rather than copying the competition, and it shows in the port selection.
