For studios running large-scale VFX rendering, complex CFD or FEA simulation, molecular modelling or dozens of concurrent build agents, consolidating that onto one workstation removes an entire layer of infrastructure — and the eight ECC memory channels and 144 usable PCIe 5.0 lanes make sure the cores stay busy.

Understand the 2.5GHz base

This is a throughput instrument, not a fast desktop. At 2.5GHz base, anything lightly threaded runs slower than on almost every other chip in this collection — a 7975WX or even a Ryzen 9 9950X will feel quicker for everyday interactive work. The 7995WX is worth its very substantial price only when your workload genuinely occupies all ninety-six cores. Platform requirements are serious too: WRX90 board, eight RDIMMs, sTR5 cooling for 350W, sized PSU, none included.

FEATURES:

96C/192T — the highest core count in AMD's workstation range

384MB L3 cache

8-channel DDR5-5200 with ECC RDIMM, enabled by default

144 usable PCIe 5.0 lanes

AMD PRO manageability and security features

SPECIFICATIONS:

Model: AMD Ryzen Threadripper PRO 7995WX (100-100000884WOF)

Cores / Threads: 96 / 192

Base Clock: 2.5 GHz

Max Boost Clock: Up to 5.1 GHz

L2 Cache: 96 MB

L3 Cache: 384 MB

Default TDP: 350 W

Socket: sTR5

Process Node: TSMC 5nm FinFET (CPU cores), TSMC 6nm FinFET (I/O die)

Memory: DDR5 up to 5200 MT/s, 8 channels, ECC supported (enabled by default)

PCI Express: PCIe 5.0, 148 lanes total (144 usable, 128 at PCIe 5.0)

Unlocked for Overclocking: Yes

Bundled Cooler: Not included

Warranty: 3 Year

WHAT'S IN THE BOX:

AMD Ryzen Threadripper PRO 7995WX processor

Documentation

Cooler sold separately — sTR5-compatible cooling required

Why AMD?

Ninety-six cores in a desk-side workstation is a category AMD created and still has to itself.
