The 9950X3D2 puts 3D V-Cache on both: 192MB of L3 total, and no wrong die to land on. Every core gets the cache benefit, so heavily threaded work that used to fall off the V-Cache die — big simulations, large-scale compiles, cache-hungry rendering — now keeps it too.

Who this is genuinely for

This is a halo part, priced accordingly. For gaming alone, the 9800X3D delivers almost identical frame rates for a fraction of the money, and the 9950X3D covers dual-purpose builds well already. The 9950X3D2 makes sense when your workload is both heavily threaded and cache-sensitive and you want no scheduling caveats at all. Cooling is not optional: 200W across two cache-stacked dies needs a 360mm AIO, and none is included.

FEATURES:

192MB L3 — 3D V-Cache on both core dies

No core-parking dependency; all 16 cores carry the cache benefit

5.6GHz boost with PCIe 5.0

DDR5-5600 support up to 256GB

Integrated Radeon graphics for display-out

SPECIFICATIONS:

Model: AMD Ryzen 9 9950X3D2 Dual Edition (100-100001978WOF)

Cores / Threads: 16 / 32

Base Clock: 4.3 GHz

Max Boost Clock: Up to 5.6 GHz

L2 Cache: 16 MB

L3 Cache: 192 MB (AMD 3D V-Cache on both dies)

Integrated Graphics: AMD Radeon Graphics (2 GPU cores, 2200 MHz)

Default TDP: 200 W

Socket: AM5

Process Node: TSMC 4nm FinFET (CPU cores), 6nm FinFET (I/O die)

Memory: DDR5 up to 5600 MT/s, dual channel, up to 256 GB

PCI Express: PCIe 5.0 (28 lanes total, 24 usable)

Unlocked for Overclocking: Yes

Bundled Cooler: Not included

Warranty: 3 Year

WHAT'S IN THE BOX:

AMD Ryzen 9 9950X3D2 Dual Edition processor

Documentation and case badge

Cooler sold separately

Why AMD?

Stacking cache on both dies removes the last asterisk from AMD's flagship, and there's no equivalent part from anyone else.
