In games it sits alongside the 9800X3D at the top of the charts; in Blender, Resolve, Premiere and compile benchmarks it delivers full sixteen-core throughput. Windows parks the non-cache cores when a game launches and frees all sixteen when you go back to work. If one machine has to be the best at everything, this is it.

What that costs you

Price, first — this is the most expensive consumer AM5 chip, and for gaming alone the 9800X3D matches it for a fraction of the money. Second, thermals: 170W with cache stacked on the die needs a 360mm AIO to hold clocks under sustained multi-core load, and nothing is included. Third, keep AMD's chipset drivers updated, because the core-parking scheduler is what makes the dual-die design behave. Buy it for a genuine dual-purpose flagship build.

FEATURES:

16C/32T with 128MB of 3D V-Cache

Top-tier gaming and top-tier rendering in one processor

5.7GHz boost with PCIe 5.0

DDR5 support up to 256GB

Integrated Radeon graphics for display-out

SPECIFICATIONS:

Model: AMD Ryzen 9 9950X3D (100-100000719WOF)

Cores / Threads: 16 / 32

Base Clock: 4.3 GHz

Max Boost Clock: Up to 5.7 GHz

L2 Cache: 16 MB

L3 Cache: 128 MB (AMD 3D V-Cache)

Integrated Graphics: AMD Radeon Graphics (2 GPU cores, 2200 MHz)

Default TDP: 170 W

Socket: AM5

Process Node: TSMC 4nm FinFET (CPU cores)

Memory: DDR5, dual channel, up to 256 GB

PCI Express: PCIe 5.0 (28 lanes total, 24 usable)

Unlocked for Overclocking: Yes

Bundled Cooler: Not included

Warranty: 3 Year

WHAT'S IN THE BOX:

AMD Ryzen 9 9950X3D processor

Documentation and case badge

Cooler sold separately

Why AMD?

Being simultaneously the best gaming chip and a sixteen-core workstation part is something no competing desktop processor manages.
