The 16-inch, 1920 x 1200 panel is taller than a standard 16:9 Full HD screen, which helps with study, browsing and document work as much as gaming. With the Intel Core 5 205H, GeForce RTX 3050 and Windows 11 Home, it suits first-time gaming-laptop buyers and students playing esports and older titles. Those wanting to run new releases at high settings should step up to an RTX 50-series model.

Trade-offs worth knowing

The RTX 3050 is a previous-generation entry GPU, so expect to lower settings in demanding new games. 8GB of memory is enough for gaming on its own but tight for heavier multitasking. Acer quotes a claimed 2.5 hours of battery life from the 53.35Wh battery, so this is a laptop to use near a plug. Connectivity is good: HDMI 2.1 and Mini DisplayPort 1.4 for external screens, a USB Type-C port with USB 3.2 Gen 2, DisplayPort 1.4 and charging, two Type-A ports, Ethernet and Wi-Fi 6. At 2.35 kg it is the heavier of the Nitro V models.

FEATURES:

NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3050 dedicated graphics

Intel Core 5 205H processor

16" WUXGA (1920 x 1200) display at 165Hz

HDMI 2.1 and Mini DisplayPort 1.4 for external displays

Backlit keyboard, Ethernet and Wi-Fi 6

SPECIFICATIONS:

Model: Acer Nitro V 16, NH.U8QEA.001

Processor: Intel Core 5 205H

Graphics: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3050

Memory: 8GB

Storage: 512GB

Display: 16" 1920 x 1200 (WUXGA), 165Hz

Operating System: Windows 11 Home

Battery: 53.35Wh (claimed 2.5 hours)

Wireless: Wi-Fi 6 (802.11ax)

Ports: 1x USB Type-C (USB 3.2 Gen 2, DisplayPort 1.4, USB charging), 1x USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-A, 1x USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-A (power-off charging), 1x HDMI 2.1 with HDCP, 1x Mini DisplayPort 1.4, 1x Ethernet (RJ-45), 1x headphone/speaker jack, DC-in

Backlit Keyboard: Yes

Colour: Black

Dimensions: 35.6 x 25.9 x 2.7 cm

Weight: 2.35 kg

Warranty: 1 year

WHAT'S IN THE BOX:

1x Acer Nitro V 16 gaming laptop

1x Charging cable

Why Acer?

Acer's Nitro line brings dedicated graphics and high-refresh displays to more accessible price points.
